Triangular operations - Cross Trade
In the field of international purchasing and sales operations, it is common to establish agreements for the integral supply of products between suppliers and customers.
In order to achieve this integrated supply, exporting companies often purchase goods and accessories from secondary suppliers in countries distant from their production centres. These purchases, made in various markets, must be delivered to the customer in a consolidated and simultaneous manner.
Therefore, these items, without undergoing another production process and passing through different routes, are integrated in triangular or cross trade operations that must reach the final customer together with the main exported product, as a single shipment.
A global service with cost and time reduction
In triangular operations, the exporting company assumes responsibility for contracting cross trade transport to take the goods from the warehouses of the secondary suppliers (possibly located in different countries) to the customer’s warehouse in the country of destination.
This procedure offers several advantages as it does not involve bringing the goods into the national territory:
- Transport costs are reduced.
- It avoids the payment of nationalisation taxes.
- Handling costs are eliminated.
- Transit times and the total period of the commercial operation are reduced.
- The resources used are optimised.
